Livas Clarinet Quartet
A forensic exploration of all things clarinettish: from massed ranks of the city's clarinettists filling the foyer space to intimate virtuosic solo pieces and delicate electronics; from a clarinet-only version of part of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring to Steve Reich's pulsating New York Counterpoint with live phasing by 11 clarinets. The concert also features works - some created specially for the event - by David Matthews, James Saunders, Kit Turnbull, Cheryl Frances Hoad, Phil Dixon, Adrian Hull and Richard Barnard.
The Bristol Ensemble are joined by London Contemporary Music Group's Catriona Scott and the Livas Quartet.
