Arcomis was founded in 2007 although it has existed in a more ad hoc way for many years through the work of the many artists associated with the organisation. Arcomis in a sense is a place for people interested in the arts and in new music to come together: an umbrella organisation that promotes and facilitates the commissioning of new music.

The business is run from offices in Cardiff in the UK where the director, Dr Adrian Hull, takes day-to-day responsibility for the management of the project portfolio and of the company. Alongside the administrative support staff also working with Arcomis are a number of world renowned professional composers, recording artists, project managers, technicians, music editors and business advisors.

Arcomis has excellent links with Cardiff University, Finance Wales and the wider business community in the UK. The company also works in partnership with the London Contemporary Music Group.
