I\\\'ve been playing Drowsy Maggie for a few years now, and thisimprovisation has grown out of it. I therefore urge violinists to usenot just the Irish folk tune as suggested on the front page, but alsothe music I\\\'ve written in the bars following the arrangement here,around which to improvise & embellish. This was premiered by me aspart of a John Cage Musicircus in St Mary\\\'s Church, Shoreham-on-Sea,West Sussex, in the Adur Arts Festival, 3rd November 2007. It was written for the American violinist Samantha Gillogly. A recording of her performing this work can be heard on my Face Book and MySpace sites.
