Commissioning Process
Each project is unique and as such there isn't really a typical path that your project might follow! We've found that there are a few key stages that most projects do have however:
First Contact
We'll speak to you about what your requirements might be, try to find out a little about you and about what the music might be for. From this we'll be able to suggest a range of options from which you can choose.
Identification of a Composer
We'll identify a composer to work with you and approach them on your behalf - we work with many different professional composers who each have a different approach to composition and music; we are sure that we'll be able to find someone whose work you'll find interesting and who will want to write music for you!
Project Management
Throughout the entire process we'll liaise with you and the composer to ensure that things are moving along smoothly and provide regular progress updates as and when required. We'll ensure that rather than hearing nothing until the piece is finished that you're as involved as you'd like to be!
The Music
We'll organise a performance or recording and possibly even publication of the end product! This is where Arcomis is in a unique position to be able to provide you with something that you can 'touch' in the form of a performance, recording or both!
A Life After the Project!
Arcomis, through its links with professional performance ensembles including the London Contemporary Music Group is in a position to promote commissioned music after the first performance so that it may have further performances anywhere in the world!
