Weddings: Where? A Church Service
This is how your commission might fit in to the Order of Events during a service in a traditional Church wedding. We've also listed the type of music that is appropriate at each point in the service.
- Before the service - quiet, unobtrusive background music while people take their seats.
- Processional/Entrance - can be something gentle or regal/fanfare.
- Hymn
- Reading
- Music between Readings - there are many options for music here but traditionally music of a quieter nature is preferred.
- Reading (alternatively could have music here)
- Sermon
- Marriage Vows
- Hymn
- Signing the Register - again, gentle, 'background' music is ideal here/music to stop the congregation fidgeting!
- Hymn
- Prayers and Blessing
- Recessional/Exit - triumphant/jubilant music
